Sunday Scribbling

This weeks prompt is “Bump in the night” how appropriate right?

Here’s a short little poem

The lights are out

You look

Nothing there

What could it be?

A cat?

A dog?

Or something else?

You try to talk yourself out of it

“there’s nothing to be worried about”

You say even though you know

That it’s that time of year

And anything can happen

Head on over to Sunday Scribblings and check out some of the other posts.

DWTS week 9

This is going to be the week that Ty goes. I love him and the way that he dances, when he loosens up, but I think that this is the end for him.

BALLROOM ROUND

Shawn (with the Quickstep)- That was cute! I love the song, one of my favorite movies, but that was upbeat, cute and quirky all the things he wanted.

Ty (with the A Tango)- wow the intensity that he has when he does this dance. I loved it, all that was missing was a smouldering cigarette in her mouth.

Lil Kim (with the waltz)- Beautiful song choice, beautiful dance. That was sweet and soft and romantic dance. I liked it.

Gilles (with the Foxtrot)- Great song, one of my favorites but the dance didn’t do it for me. There was a lot of posing and other stuff. And of course Cheryl with the hair whipping around.

Mellisa (with the V waltz)- She looks so beautiful even when she just stands there. I love her hair when it’s curled and long like that.

OK  with the pros teaching the stars and trying to teach stars i know that Ashton is going to be good but I’m curious to see how the others handle it.

LATIN ROUND

(no one needed the image of whatever it was that Len said lol)

Shawn (with the Paso Doble)- I don’t know maybe I was hoping for something a little more dramatic but that just seemed a little blah. It didn’t give me chills like I was hoping.

Ty (wiht the Rumba)- Oh that was cute, he did his solo will his wife. that was just adorable. But the hips were painful to watch but I think this is the end of the road for him. Sorry Ty but it’s time to get off the dance floor and get back on the bull. And of course the lift police was there.

Lil Kim (with the Salsa)- this is her dance!!!!!! Bring back the booty!!!! I loved the trick!!!! That freaked me out for a minute but that came out sooooo good. There were a couple of mis-steps there but that was so her and that was just so much fun.

Gilles (wiht the rumba)- Cheryl!!!!! She cracks me up, “that comes naturally”. Wow does his wife know how lucky she is??? Cause I’m pretty sure there are a couple thousand women in the world that will take him. Get the hose and cool off the room!!

Mellisa (with the Samba)- that was cute i have to give her credit for that. At least she didn’t fall off the counter like the other girl did. She didn’t shake as much as I thought she could have, she probably shook more when she was a cheerleader, lol.

Party on baby!

The party was a success!! I was so happy with the way the party came out for school. Every time I have a party I’m nervous about how it will work. Whether the kids will like what I have planned, if the projects I want to do will work, whether or not there will be enough kids, that kind of thing. For Easter the party I had planned was a “Bunny” party. We would do lots of bunny themed projects; eat like a bunny and my rabbit Max would come down for the day. Well the bunny projects I had didn’t quite pan out like I was hoping (there was one from Ramblings that I really wanted to try but couldn’t find a picture that worked) but the other projects that I had worked out great. The flowers took a little longer to make then I thought but then again you can’t rush the painters, lol. The gardening we did that day was fine and the movie was prefect “Max and Ruby: Summertime with Max and Ruby”. How fitting right? I thought so.

I’m hoping that the little bit of a party that I have planned for Earth Day, going to the park we usually play, to pick up garbage goes well. We seem to play at he same area all the time and they keep bringing me garbage anyways so we might as well clean the area, right? I know some of the parents, well actually one parent, made a comment to me about cleaning a place that has broken glass and whatnot in it but at the same time do they want us to just leave it and let the kids play there anyway? I would much rather that Savie bring it to me, with gloves on of course, then play around it and get hurt by it. I’ve taken to taking a garbage bag with us on walks anyways because we are always finding garbage when we go out. Plus it will get them in the train of thought for that Sat.’s Farmer Market. They are suppose to be having a big Earth Day party with recycling of clothes, a May Pole and other projects. I can’t wait.

Sunday Scribblings

This weeks prompt is Celebrate. There are a lot of things to celebrate  this month for me. We have Easter and Earth Day and those are big thigns, more the Earth Day then anything. There is also the car shows this month, one here in town and in the town over.  The Farmer’s Market is opening soon which means lost of grilling and fresh foods for us. I love this time of year. It’s so easy to be happy and free……. as long as you don’t mind the wind, lol.

Busy, busy just the way I like it

It’s spring and that means busy weekends for me. The Farmer’s Market wil start just after Earth Day and that means that every Sat. morning I will be there. As long as weather permits. So my Sat.  are gone, or at least for now, changed or put on hold. I will have my day to do my stuff but that will have to change until the end of summer.

This month alone my weekends are packed. Today I had a hair appt and then was going to go to Frontier Days but the wind was blowing so bad that I was not about to put myself or Savie out in that for some rides and maybe some games so instead we did a lot of shopping. Tomorrow we are going to the mountains for Stone Mole Weekend. We have gone every year since we moved here so it’s tradition.

Next weekend we have the car show here in town, a birthday party, and an art walk after 5. After that I am going to a dance at a local club here so I will be very tired come Sunday.  The weekend after that is the Car show in Sierra Vista and a hair appt for both of us. So that leaves what? The last weekend of the month not planned out yet right? But that, is only a matter of time.

Sunday Scribblings

Even though it’s not Sunday anymore I thought I would still post this weeks prompt. This week’s prompt is Pilgrimage.

Since I am not religious and religion is what comes to mind when I think of pilgrimage I am going to talk about what places I have to go to. When I lived in CA and went to the mall I had to go to Mrs. Field’s. They had the best cookies and there was no way that I was going to the mall without having one of their cookies even brownies for that matter.

Bookstores. Any bookstore really. I don’t really care what bookstore I go to I just need to be in one to enjoy the books. There are a few places that I love to go to.

I am such a bookie. I love to read and thankfully so does my daughter. I have so many books right now that I won’t even get to most of them in the next year yet I continue to buy them.Right now I am really into L A Banks series (I have every one of this series so far and only the first of this one) and am waiting impatiently for the next one to come out.Finding books for Savie is easy.

As long as it’s cute, with a side of educational, she likes it. She doesn’t really have favorite character or type of books so at this point anything works. Since I have been working at the studio I have taken to finding books at the library to add to our collection and refresh what we have. I bought these thru Ebay and have the whole set now, we had parts of it at school. Last week we read this book and I loved it, today we read this one and I am so in love with it. You have to read it, the kids loved it and so will you.

Dancing with the Stars

I was all ready to start watching this around 8 tonight but then the football game got good, lol so I didn’t even get started until about 9:30pm.

Brooke (salsa)-(I am so sick of seeing Brooke (just kidding). I really want to see her mess up somehow.) This was not a good dance for her, she was trying to hard and she looked tired. I wonder if the babies were keeping her up last night, lol. I guess I shouldn’t have asked for that.

Cody (paso dobla)- I love her voice when she gets exicete. Interesting choice in music and outfits. That was a good. I liked it.

Warren ( mambo)- I love him and want him to win so bad!!!! I love watching him dance it’s just fun and flirty and cute. I have to vote for my man.

Lance (mambo)- I love him to but it’s more about Warren. Nice hold there Lacey, all I can say is WOW you have some control there. That was beautiful. Sorry Warren but that was so much better than yours.

Second Dances

Brooke (salsa)- I think there should be a rule that says you have to wear red and a dress to do the salsa, it just looks so much better. Not that the gold thing wasn’t bad but wow, could you pull my shoulder out a little more. Did you notice that she did the same air spilt as the por’s, lol?

Cody (salsa) another golf out fit? lol. She’s holding her side on those turn jumps I wonder if it hurts a little. There was a small mis-step but it was good.

Wow look her nose, she looks very Rockabilly but he just looks goofy, lol. I wonder if it’s because his teeth look so white.

Warren (jitter bug)- Ha ha ha ha ha, that was cute. Poor baby looks a little tired after all that.

Lance (jitterbug)- I hope his is really good, for his grandfather’s sake. That had to be a little un-nerving, losing a shoe at the beginning of the dance. He did really well, all things considered.

Happy Halloween

Yes I know that it’s late but hey, that’s me.

We had a great Halloween. We both dressed up as fairies with wings and wands. Only when we left school to go trick-or-treating we couldn’t find either one. Oh well off we go. We went with a couple of friends from school J with her mom S, R with his mom R, and N with his mom M. We were a cute little group of four. We walked the entire Vista, which is about a mile to walk both sides of the street, and even made an appearance at the Manson at the end of the street. Afterwards we went back the school so I could do my part at the party. I had a bucket ‘o worms” for the kids to put their hands in for a prize. I didn’t think the older kids would like it but there was one girl that get mad at her mom because she didn’t get her turn, but only a little mad. I felt bad for her. I didn’t think it would be that big of a hit but just goes to show that it’s the little things that help.

I’m not one for strict bedtimes but seeing as how Savie didn’t take a nap that day and it was almost 9pm she needed to go home. Hubby came and got her and that was the end of that. I thought there would be more of a fight from her because she’s leaving the party early but she was OK with it. When I got home hubby said that she was fine with not being able to eat any of her candy. I told her before we even started trick-or-treating that she wouldn’t get to eat any of it that night, maybe the next day but not that night. There were a couple of kids at the party that were having a crying fit because they couldn’t have any more candy.

I think that’s one of the problems that some parents have. They don’t tell their kids beforehand, what is going to happen. I’ve noticed that when I do this with her things go a lot better then when I don’t say anything to her. I have to remember to do that more often.

How was your Halloween?
